Mentor & Alumnae Program

Free

Robust mentoring and alumnae engagement. Graduates paired with mentors. Over 90% of alumnae who completed program and were matched with mentor continued formal education.

Middle School for Refugee Girls

Free

Only school in US dedicated to refugee girls with interrupted education. 3-year, full-day, tuition-free academic program. 4 pillars: Intensive English Language & Literacy, STEAM education, Social & Emotional Learning/Wellness, Mentor & Alumnae Programming. Students gain 2 grade levels in reading per year on average.

Target Population: Refugee girls, middle school age, from countries including Afghanistan, Burma, Congo, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Iraq, Liberia, Somalia, Sudan

Languages: English-focused; students from 50+ nations

Capacity: 40-50 students per year; 300+ graduates to date; 79% HS graduation rate

Eligibility: Refugee girls with interrupted formal education (avg 3 years missed, up to 6); in US less than 3 years
Hours: 3-year program; full school day

Social & Emotional Learning / Wellness

Free

Every student participates in 27 weekly counseling classes per year. Addresses food insecurity, holistic physical and emotional needs. Trauma-informed practices.
